Antique Green Milk Glass Challinor & Taylor Cruet
At Memory Lane, I present to you this rare green milk glass cruet created by Challinor and Taylor between 1885 and 1893. It is a rare Victorian opaque green color made in the Tree of Life Pattern. The bottle comes with the original stopper, which is damaged.
The measurements are approximate.
Material: Milk Glass
Color: Green. This is not jadeite/jadite.
Pattern: Number 313, Tree of Life
Cruet Height/Length: 3 3/4"
Belly Width: 2 1/4"
Base Width Foot to Foot: 2"
Rim Width: 1"
Stopper Length: 2"
Cruet and Stopper Combined Length: 5 1/4"
Maker: Challinor and Taylor.
When created: 1885 - 1893
Bottom Marks: Pontle Mark
Cruet Glass Condition: Excellent – Free of any cracks, hairline fractures, chips, flea bites, or repairs. There is a slag line that is apparent throughout the cruet.
Stopper Glass Condition: Good. It is broken. It has not been repaired. It is a clean break. It does not affect how it sits in the cruet. (Please note that I would have downgraded the rating further if it affected the aesthetics or the function of the stopper or cruet.)
