Antique Milk Glass Condiment Set w Handle & Lids At Memory Lane, I present to you this hard to find MILK GLASS condiment set. This is a hard to find opaque milk glass set with a salt, pepper, mustard, and sugar jars or containers; all of which have their lids. The set in on a raised footed tray.
The sockets are 1 1/8" deep. The jars sit very well inside the platform. The containers are easily removed from the stand and can be placed on the table when in use. Three of the four containers are a match to the stand in paint coloring, hand painted flower, and shape of the bottles. There is one of the four jars that is a little different. It has the same paint coloring, but it does not have the same painted flower or shape of bottle. The triangularly shaped handle is attached via a thumbscrew. All pieces do need to be cleaned. I dusted them off, but did not clean them. Where you see the paint on the tray and on the bottles, the milk glass is satin. The rest of the milk glass has not been satinized. It is opal in its original form.
Please note that although this set has problems – which I outline further below, I feel this set is definitely in good overall condition. It is a nice EAPG Set.
Material: Milk Glass
Milk Glass Color: White
Maker: Dithridge or Eagle
When created: 1894 – 1903 +/-
Bottom Marks: None

The measurements are approximate.

SALT AND PEPPER SHAKERS
Salt and Pepper Height w Lids on: 4 7/8"
Salt and Pepper - Glass, Paint, and Lid Conditions: Excellent Antique Condition.

MUSTARD
Mustard Height w Lid on: 4 5/8"
Mustard – Glass, Paint, and Lid Conditions: Excellent Antique Condition.

SUGAR
Sugar Height w Lid on: 2 ¾". This is the one that was a little different. I, believe, it was a replacement. Although I have called it a sugar shaker, it really is quite small to be called that.
Sugar – Glass and Lid Conditions: Excellent Antique Condition
Sugar – Paint Condition: Poor. Although the sunrise orange effect is still present, the flower painting has pretty much been worn off.

TRAY
Tray Width: 8"
Tray Height w Handle: 9"
Tray – Glass Condition: Poor. Every one of the sockets are chipped around the edges. They are not huge chunks, but it is still chipped. There are NO chips on the bottom edge, which is amazing.
Tray – Paint Condition: Very Good: There is one spot on the rear where it is missing. Other than that the flowers are great.
Tray Metal Handle Condition: Very Good. It is slanted, but it just needs to be bent back.

Antique Very Scarce Milk Glass Fern Condiment Set At Memory Lane
This antique milk glass condiment set of salt, pepper, and mustard containers is complete with all the respective lids. The base is scalloped and has a handle.
The base color is, naturally, white. It has been hand painted with a cranberry red at the top of the glass and then it disappears – fades out. The jars are all painted with brown ferns. Once again the fading affect is carried thru – but starting at the bottom instead and then disappearing towards the top.
This is the antique blown and pressed fern condiment set and it is identified as such. There is a vintage condiment set, made by Imperial in the 1950s. The Imperial vintage set is a bit different; along with the obvious newer jar tops and lids, the motif painting that Imperial had applied is completely different. It is a beautiful set, but it is not this antique set. If you are looking for the vintage set; this set is not for you. I have seen online some of the vintage sets identified as antique, so please be aware of what you are buying. I have also seen sold online the antique base being sold with the vintage jars; once again, please educate yourself and be aware of what you are purchasing.

Material: Antique Milk Glass
Color: White (Also known as Opal, Opaline, or Opalware) w Cranberry Red, Pink, and Brown
Base Height w Handle: 6 1/2" +/-
Base Width: 5 3/8" +/-
Height of Salt & Pepper Shakers: 3 ¼" +/-
Height of Mustard Container: 3" +/-
Creation Date: 1899 to 1908 +/-
Maker: unk
Bottom Marks: None

Base Paint Condition: Excellent. As it was applied with all of its imperfections since it was hand painted.
Base Glass Condition: Very Good. There are no chips on the top or the bottom. There is discoloration in one of the sockets.
Base Handle: Fair. It is a bit rusted.

Paint Condition of Jars: Excellent. Once again, as it was applied with all of its imperfections since they also were hand painted.
Glass Condition of Jars: Excellent. As they were formed. Please note that the glass of one of the salt/pepper containers is quite thick; but that is how it was formed. It, no way, affects the lid positioning on the jar.
Metal Lids: Good. You can tell they have been used. The lid to the mustard container has a littler green Verdi, but not much. I cleaned it a bit, but I did not go crazy.

Spoon. The spoon is not original to the set. As far as I know, they did not come with one. But either way, this one is silver plated and was probably created sometime in the 1950s. It is marked with "GERO ZILMETA". It is in excellent condition and is stainless steel. It is almost 4 1/2" long.

You are purchasing and will receive this condiment base, the three jars, the three lids to these jars, and the cute little mustard spoon.

I have provided you with several pictures. I hope, the pictures along with this lengthy description, will give you a sense of how very special this set is.

Thank you for reading this. I apologize for the length. My descriptions are not always this long. But I felt an explanation was necessary in this case.
